Subsequently, she specialized in communication and information theory. She finished a mini project ('MIMO-OFDM in frequenzselektiven Multilayer-Systemen') as well as a student research project ('Detektion von MIMO-Systemen unter Verwendung von Soft-Output-Information') in 2004 at University of Bremen. In February 2005, she finished her Diploma thesis at Jacobs University Bremen (formerly International University Bremen, IUB) which deals with Unequal Error Protection Turbo Codes.
